A Holistic View of Health

Cody Moxam is a physician-scientist in training pursuing his MD/PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroengineering at the University of Arizona, Tucson College of Medicine. Cody Andrew Moxam holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, where he developed a real-time EEG-based brain-state decoder for closed-loop neuromodulation under the mentorship of Dr. Nitish Thakor, and a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder.

His research spans personalized repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for major depression, pediatric concussion, long COVID, and substance use disorders.

Innovation and Human Service

Driven by a commitment to both scientific innovation and human service, Cody A. Moxam has served as a Behavioral Health Technician at a residential addiction recovery facility and as a Student Learning Assistant for Research Methods in Clinical Psychology at CU Boulder. He co-designed CU Boulder’s Mindful Campus Program and the “Flourishing, Belonging, and Liberation” course, volunteered at a free clinic serving unhoused patients, and supported recovery through behavioral health counseling and the CU Collegiate Recovery Center.
A recipient of the University of Arizona MD/PhD Full Scholarship and the CU Arts and Sciences GOLD Scholarship, awarded annually to just two students for academic excellence and leadership, Cody is committed to advancing brain health for underserved and vulnerable populations.
